For Employers-Health and Wellness

At Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare, we care about our employees.  They are a reflection of our organization and keeping them focused, safe and healthy reflects our mission to provide exceptional health care services.

One of the most significant investments that a company has is its employees. We have resources necessary to help maintain healthy individuals and families. That ultimately leads to healthier workers and improved productivity. Our highly trained physicians and other clinical professionals use the most advanced equipment and technology and we offer services in many convenient locations. Our occupational health and rehabilitation experts provide a wide array of services specially designed for each company and its workers.

Our Mental Health and Addictions Care department offers the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). This program provides assessments for employees and their families related to work and or life stressors. In addition, EAP offers crisis debriefing to participating companies. This service is utilized when a crisis occurs at the work site (robbery, death, etc.). Our team of experts can be available as needed.

We have customized educational programs and services to help maintain a healthy workforce and ultimately help employers save health care costs.

On-site Health and Wellness Education
Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare can work with employers to coordinate educational sessions at the workplace to bring health care education to all employees. Our clinical experts can share information about a variety of health education topics at times that are convenient to your work schedules.  Our goal is make employees aware of the resources they have in our local health care system as well as the many health programs and services available to their families.

Please click here to view our Calendar of Topics (link to Healthier Connections Calendar info) that can be provided on-site for your workforce. These “Steps to a Healthier You” topics are ones that we know are of much interest and can have an impact on individuals’ lifestyles. At the same time, if you have another topic that best meets your organization’s specific needs, just let us know, and we’ll work with you to bring an expert to your workplace to provide helpful information on that topic as well.

Health Risk Assessments
Each year nearly 1.3 million people die prematurely in the United States from conditions which can be prevented or delayed.  A Health Risk Assessment can help you to avoid becoming one of these statistics.

A Health Risk Assessment (HRA) can provide you and your employees with ideas for healthy living and for minimizing the risks of being sick.  It consists of four components:

  1. 40 Personal Health and Lifestyle Habit Questions
  2. 10 Clinical Measurements: Blood Sugar, Cholesterol (Total, LDL & HDL), Body Fat, Weight, Height, Blood Pressure, Triglycerides, Heart Rate
  3. Individualized Personal Wellness Reports: Good Habits Score, Leading Health Risks, Recommended Preventative Services, Recommendations to Improve Health
  4. Group Summary Report about the status of your employees as a whole

Additionally, a health coach can meet individually with employees to review their HRA results and make recommendations on lifestyle changes and provide assistance with any preventative screenings.  The wellness coaching, along with the HRA, can provide an effective personal wellness plan.

As the employer, you will receive a Group Summary Report which offers your company a snapshot of the overall health status of your employees and allows you to better plan your health and wellness programs.

Wellness is the process of being aware of and actively working towards better health.  It includes Awareness, Education as well as Change in Behaviors.  A HRA can be the first step towards you and your employees adding years to your life…and life to your years!
