Reaching out to teens in Milwaukee
Ann Hanson connects with teens on sensitive issues.
Through the Teen Outreach program, Anne Hanson, RN, BSN, of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare – St. Francis, educates teens about pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases with an emphasis on abstinence and other positive health behaviors. The program reaches more than 5,000 middle and high school students at nearly 30 schools throughout the Milwaukee area.
“I am thankful for the opportunity to have a positive impact on students’ lives,” says Anne Hanson, RN, BSN, a nursing supervisor at St. Francis Hospital. “They are so appreciative that someone takes time to listen to them and address their concerns. One even shared that our presentations changed her life. That’s powerful feedback.”
